Update
Dad is showing early signs of dementia. It's hard to watch.
Mom gets frustrated and there isn't much to say or do but listen.
My parents live far away so it makes it difficult to tend to their needs. They have agreed and put their names on a waiting list for a multiple option residence not far from where they live now. This will give both of my parents what they need as life progresses for them; my dad not to get lost and to be with people; my mom to have independence knowing that my dad is safe and secure.
My grandson brings such joy to my life. I always look forward to our bi-weekly weekends together.
We spend our weekends visiting a very sick friend, visiting Big MeMa at the nursing home. or babysitting. With an occasional dinner out or golf game or trip to a thrift store, we are good to go with this chapter in our lives.
I must say, however, that I miss interacting with my siblings, but I hear we are having a family meeting in July. I am really looking forward to it.
One last thing. I will be graduating with my youngest daughter in May. How awesome is that!
